National Pronto Association held its semi-annual Membership Meeting March 13-14, 2003 in Dallas, Texas. Attendance included 92 members, representing 43 warehouses, and 180 vendors, representing 100 manufacturing companies. The meeting schedule included member sessions, member and vendor sessions, a booth show, and round table discussions.
Presentations were given on the Pronto SmartChoice Advantage and VIP Tech Center Installer Marketing Programs, highlighting the Nationwide Parts & Labor Warranty program and unlimited minutes on the Technical Assistance Hotline. Other programs reviewed included the support of ASE Certification, technical and business training, frequent buyer incentive programs, and many other advantages offered by the Association. A very exciting and successful four-hour booth show was held Friday evening where Pronto members and vendors mingled and discussed business.
Bill Maggs, President of National Pronto Association, reported the tone of the meeting was very upbeat - even with discussions of the impending war in Iraq. He said Pronto members are leaders in their respective markets and very interested in programs that help their customers maintain profitability. In addition to leading discussions in the general business sessions, Maggs reported great headway had been made with the groups Data Warehousing computer project, and encouraged members to see the live demonstration during the booth show.
Pronto Board Chairman, Paul Brokaw of Tri-Citi Automotive Warehouse in Tampa, Florida, addressed Pronto members and vendors with a session titled, Together We Can Work Wonders. This slogan set the tone for teamwork and strength, which is very important due to current marketplace conditions. Brokaw encouraged Pronto members and vendors to continue supporting each others businesses. Brokaw reported the Associations successes in 2002 and stated that Pronto is poised for another great year in 2003.
The next Pronto meeting will be the Owners Conference in San Francisco - September 4 & 5, 2003. This meeting will feature face-to-face sessions between members and suppliers.
The National Pronto Association is a member-owned, member-directed Program Distribution Group with 49 owners and 92 warehouse locations nationwide.
